Objective of the Internet Hotline
Almost everyone uses the Internet nowadays, from young children to older generations: the Internet has become indispensable for studying, work and entertainment alike. However, there is a dark side to the Internet (like most technical novelties). Unlawful activities and crime that existed before the Internet have become more dangerous in the online environment: an image or video uploaded to the World Wide Web, or online harassment affects a far broader public, thereby causing more damage.
The Internet has also been a hotbed for the spread of paedophile content, racist and marginalising views and drug trafficking. Some online content, while not being outright illegal, can nevertheless be detrimental or dangerous to the development of minors. The Internet Hotline was created to allow the reporting of such illegal and detrimental content for their removal. If you have encountered such content, click on the Report menu item.
